I wanted to share a video recently shared with me about charity water. A truly amazing organization! I am fascinated by charity: water for several reasons:
1. it’s all about water.
2. it’s tackling the BHAG of supplying a billion people with access to clean drinking water.
3. it’s pursuing a dream with passion and energy.
4. its branding, positioning, guerrilla marketing, and creativity is world class.
Of course, believing in the organization’s mission and supporting the value they add to society, I do have a suggestion for Charity: Water:
As you places wells -that are in essence mining untapped groundwater resources- assign private property rights to these resources. This will encourage stewardship and a means for managing the resource during times of scarcity. Take note of the hard lessons learned in the developed world, when rights go undefined to a valuable resources.
